Zoombak has assembled a team of seasoned professionals with extensive expertise in wireless technology and other related industries and disciplines, having worked at both small entrepreneurial start-ups and large global corporations.
Simon Buckingham, Chief Executive Officer
Simon has been a leading force in mobile messaging and content for over 15 years, successfully launching innovations from text messaging and ringtones to video and location services. In 1999, he founded Mobile Streams, a mobile production service provider that distributes content on mobile phones both direct to consumers and through network providers. Prior to founding Mobile Streams, he was a senior executive at Vodafone in the U.K., managing Vodafone’s Business Partners Program.
Kate Shevack, President
Kate is a highly experienced marketing professional with a successful record of building global brands gained through a series of executive-level management positions. She joins Zoombak from her most recent position as senior vice president and Chief Marketing Officer of Timex, Inc. Previously, Shevack established her credentials in packaged goods marketing at Reckitt & Benckiser, Inc. where she built brands such as French’s and Lysol. In 2006, Shevack received Advertising Age’s prestigious “Women to Watch” Award for her business and brand leadership.
Barry Wilson, Executive Vice President, Operations
Barry has more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of back office and call center operations. Launching new products in the U.S., Europe and Mexico, he has successfully managed the intricate interface between engineering, technical service, and customer contact centers required to deliver superior customer service. Throughout his career, Barry has held a number of senior leadership positions including Managing Director of UPC NL, a subsidiary of Liberty Global located in the Netherlands.
Alexander Eriksen, Senior Vice President, European Business Development
Alexander has been a pioneer in the MVNO industry with more than 15 years of experience. Before he joined Zoombak he was responsible for operations with Disney Mobile UK, where he designed the system architecture and selected the partners to support the proposition. This included the carrier relationship, billing, customer care, logistics, repair/reverse logistics, handsets, SIM etc. Before joining Disney Mobile Alexander has been involved in other pan-Scandinavian MVNO start-ups. He was SVP Marketing and Business Development for Sense Communication and General Manager for Tele1 Europe's mobile activities. Alexander has also done assignments for EasyMobile and EireCom. Alexander holds an MBA and is based in London, UK.
Patrice McAree, Senior Vice President, Chief Development Officer
With over a decade of senior leadership experience in the digital media and wireless industries, Patrice recently served as Vice President of Global Business Development for Mobile 365, a leading wireless messaging firm. Previously, Mr. McAree led various digital strategic initiatives at the News Corporation, where he served as Senior Vice President for Corporate Development and as Managing Director of the digital arm of News Corporation in Australia. Patrice began his business career at Lucent Technologies, where he led Lucent’s efforts to expand CDMA network sales in the Asia-Pacific region. He has an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
